8x10 Oil on Canvas. I decided to use another painter's painting as a reference (gasp). This is a copy of one of Bob Rohm's paintings in the book The Painterly Approach. I liked the colors and strokes that he used and to be honest, I learned a lot from copying.
I painted this while on vacation in Texas, my Mom took me to her painting class taught by Patricia Lyle who is an artist in Austin, Texas. I learned that it is more fun to have a TON of paint colors to choose from than to mix your own colors from red, blue, yellow, white, and black.
A long journey through learning to oil paint and finding my own style. Stay tuned.

Peppers
6x6 Oil on gallery-wrapped canvas. My art teacher gave us a super challenge, the "finish a painting in 2 hours challenge". She brought a bunch of fruits and vegetables and let us set up our own mini still lifes (or would that be still lives, I don't know). It was one of those pull your hair out kind of classes, but way fun.

Iris
Horse
11X14 Oil on Canvas. Those who know me, know I LOVE horses and have since I was little. I just think they are pretty. I used to draw them all the time so I figured I better paint one (a much more difficult task than drawing). I'm sure this won't be the last horse you find here.
Pomegranates
11x14 Oil on hardboard. So I guess I should take some decent pictures of my work.....but not right now. My wonderful mother-in-law, Maeva, sends us pomegranates (I had to look up the spelling, I'm not sure what is happening to my awesome spelling skills lately) every fall. They are from this huge tree they have in their backyard. She wraps them individually in bubble wrap so they don't get ruined. How cute is that.
